An evil-looking man with a buzz cut, goatee, and dark slashes for eyebrows approached them. He wore a long, black silk robe open to the waist, revealing a chiseled chest covered in dark hair, as though he’d just slipped it on after bathing or, more likely, fucking.

“Blake, it’s about time you visited. I was beginning to think marriage had made you boring.” The man kissed Blake’s cheek, and Jax remembered to look jealous, something that amused Blake.

“Not at all, Vik,” Blake said. “I’ve had my hands full with this guy. Meet my husband, Jax. I assure you he’s as into this as I am. He even spent some time living with a werewolf pack before the feral conditions became too much. This visit is a gift for him, as he’s eager for us to share an omega. You have one ready for us?”

Vik looked Jax over with interest. “Yes. Deep in heat and gagging for it. We haven’t plugged him, so he’s certain to be nice and tight. Will you have a cocktail first?” He gestured toward the degenerate group around them.

They followed Vik, Jax marveling at how casually the man spoke of what they were doing. How long had this been going on? Blake seemed to know a lot of the people there. Jax counted seven omegas in that room alone, and no telling how many were locked behind closed doors. Where had they all come from? Weren’t omegas a rarity? River Wolf pack had been reported to have had more omegas than all other packs in the vicinity put together. Was this why omegas were a rarity? The enormity of it all washed over Jax in a wave of disbelief.

They took seats on one of the plush rouge-colored couches. Blake accepted drinks from an omega with dark hair and doe eyes that painfully reminded Jax of Sam and handed one to Jax. Jax crossed his legs and took a sip while giving Blake an admiring one-over. He’d never had so much trouble staying in character, and he knew it would only get tougher as the night wore on.

“I’m impressed, baby. How long have you been keeping this little secret from me?” He asked Blake.

Blake smiled. “This place has been here for years, but only an elite group know about it. Sorry, love, but I had to make sure you were into it before bringing you here.”

Jax pretended to pout. “How could you think I wouldn’t be?”

Blake put a hand on Jax’s thigh, fingers stroking. “There’s your history to be taken into account.”

“My history is precisely why I’m so into it.”

“I know, I know, but Dad was difficult to convince.”

Jax raised a brow. “Your father comes here?”

Blake nodded. “Oh, yes. He’s here tonight, in fact. He insisted on it.”

Great. Of course, the senator would want to see how Jax reacted.

Blake caressed Jax’s cock beneath the material of Jax’s pants. “We have a spectacular night ahead of us.” He took a drink, fingers still stroking. Hoping for some liquid courage, Jax took a big gulp, too.

At first glance, his reedy and studious-looking husband resembled a librarian or college professor, but Jax had gotten to know the man underneath. Blake could be cruel when provoked. He was extremely bigoted against the werewolves, whom he thought of as not only sub-human, but sub-animal, too. An unfortunate mix of genes bundled up to make a savage and pathetic whole.

Blake raised a hand to catch Vik’s attention, and a moment later, a man in a suit escorted them to their private room.

Jax’s heart sped up as sounds of flesh slapping on flesh mixed with moans of pleasure became more distinct the farther down the long corridor they walked. As the suited man unlocked one of several closed doors, Jax could hear the omega inside.

“Please…I need it. Come fill me! Gods, please! I need cock. I need a knot!”

The door swung open to reveal a man tied to the bed, eyes wild, bare chest rising and falling in desperate pants. Thank Christ he wasn’t anyone Jax recognized.

“This one’s name is Devon,” the man told them and chuckled. “Not that it matters. But we gotta call ‘em something. He’s tied down, so he can’t be touching himself or fucking the bedposts. Been like that for hours, so he’s more than ready. Have a good time, boys.”

The suited man opened the door, and Jax fought down the urge to turn and run.

“Please…please…” the omega—Devon—begged as the suited man closed the door.

Jax glanced at Blake. He wanted to punch the smug look off his husband’s face. The fact he willingly shared his life with such a person was enough to make Jax want to throw himself off the nearest ledge.

“See how much he wants it?” Blake asked, circling the bed, eyes on the desperate omega as he unbuttoned his starched green shirt that cost more than some people made in two months. Blake had not worn that sort of thing when he was posing as a philanthropist at the Congress, but since marrying Jax, he flaunted his wealth with impunity.

Jax’s gaze moved back to Devon. The werewolf’s cock was an angry red and standing almost straight from his body, head glistening. The bottom ties were long enough the omega could lift and spread his legs. Ass off the bed, the thick, clear slick was plainly visible leaking from the puckered hole and forming a puddle on the sheets, an erotic sight. Disturbingly, Jax’s cock began to harden. He knew from his time with River’s pack that the omegas’ heat made them lose control, all their focus on relieving the need of their bodies. This young man wasn’t in control of himself, and he was tied to a bed, for Christ’s sake. There was nothing arousing about the situation. Yet Jax’s cock disagreed.

Devon locked hungry eyes on Jax’s tenting pants and licked his lips. “Please. Let me have it. I need to be filled.” His breath came in quick, needy pants. “You’re big. Let me have it.”

Jax glanced at Blake, who raised a brow as he peeled off the last of his clothes.

“He knows who the biggest buck in the room is, babe.”

Disgust warring with budding lust that brought a blush of shame to Jax’s cheeks, he tried to think of a way to get out of participating.

“I’d like to watch you with him,” he finally said.

He turned and lay back on the red chaise lounge, unbuckling his pants with short, bold moves as he stared at the hungry omega on the bed. Blank out your mind. You’ll never get through this if you don’t.

Blake watched Jax pull out his cock. “That can be arranged.” He turned and untied first one and then the other of the loose bindings on the omega’s ankles before releasing the tighter bonds on the werewolf’s hands.

In no time, the omega was off the bed and between Jax’s legs on the chaise lounge. Head falling back, Jax cried out when the omega’s eager tongue ran over his balls. “Fuck!”

“Now, that’s a sight,” Blake said with reverence, kicking away his trousers.

Jax knew he should push Devon off, but he also knew he couldn’t. As much as he hadn’t wanted to be a participant, this worked in his favor. The omega’s sucking mouth was making it difficult to think. Jax’s balls tightened against his body, and he already felt ready to shoot. Is this what being around an omega did to a man?

When Devon swallowed Jax’s hard cock, Blake snapped out of his lust-funk and strode over to them.

Grabbing Devon by the hair, Blake jerked the omega off his husband. “My turn.”

The omega quickly plastered himself against the plush carpet and held his glistening round ass cheeks open.

“Look at that,” Blake said, eyes meeting Jax’s. “This is what you wanted, right, babe? An omega begging for it? Look at that hole flutter!”

Jax managed a nod, eyes following Blake as he shoved inside Devon without preamble. The omega moaned, clearly loving being filled, but Jax knew it was the heat. This was so sick and twisted, yet Jax was hard as granite, nuts still slick with the omega’s saliva.

God, I’m just as disgusting as Blake, Jax thought. Everything about the scenario was wrong, yet lust consumed him. As he watched Blake fuck the moaning omega across the floor, he was dismayed how his erection swelled against his palm. He began working it with reluctant fingers.

  Blake pressed Devon
against the wall, bare ass thrusting in smooth, sure strokes, balls swinging between straining thighs. The whole scene was straight out of a porn video, and Jax’s blood froze as he realized that would probably come next, if it hadn’t already. He could imagine the money that would roll in for films with titles like, Omega Bound or Slick, Begging, and in Heat.

Devon clawed at the wall, crying out for more, and Jax’s nuts tightened painfully with impending release. What kind of a sick fuck was he to enjoy this? The omega screamed and convulsed through a climax that looked nothing short of electrifying.

“Fuck, he’s wringing me dry,” Blake choked, face contorted in bliss. “Look at him trying to suck me in. Come ’ere and look, babe…God Almighty!”

Jax staggered to his feet, covering the short space on legs weak with desire. The omega’s impossibly tight hole gripped Blake’s cock like it was determined not to let go. A moan escaped Jax’s lips, and he crumpled to the floor, cock so hard, need took over his senses.

He shouldn’t have been surprised when the omega straddled him a moment later, leaving a spent Blake on the floor to watch.

Tight, so fucking tight, slick, and strong. The omega’s insides clenched at Jax’s throbbing cock. Jax bucked off the floor, cock buried inside that tortuous heat, mind drifting away as he was consumed by undeniable need.

When Jax could no longer thrust, the omega took over, riding him. Jax couldn’t take his eyes off Devon’s lithe body undulating hypnotically above him as he lay on the floor.

Dimly, he was aware of Blake’s eyes on them.

“Fuck that thing,” Blake goaded, stroking Jax’s muscled thigh. “Give it to him, stud! Look how he wants it. You can’t be tired yet.”

Summoning the last of his energy, Jax began drilling into the omega, chasing the climax gathering like a tsunami in his groin. Just before the crash of the first wave knocked his head back, Jax had the feeling it would be only the first of many. Body arching off the floor, he bellowed as he emptied himself inside Devon, the sounds of Blake jerking off mingling with the omega’s cries of release.

Hours later, Jax lay spent on the bed, Devon having been taken away. Through a fog of sleep, he heard Blake’s father’s voice just inside the door.

“I’ll admit it; you were right, son. He’s obviously with us. And what a magnificent fuck he must be. Does he let you top him?”

Jax didn’t hear the reply. He squeezed his eyes shut, shame at what he’d done overwhelming him.

  Chapter 6: Sam

“Do you think I’m pregnant?” Sam asked Leo. The two had been weeding the garden all morning, but Sam felt as though they’d been at it for days. He wanted to curl up in the shade and go to sleep.

Leo sat up on his haunches and looked at the omega before leaning in and taking a sniff. “No. Why? What’s the matter?”

The alpha looked so concerned, Sam shook his head and smiled. He was beginning to think all his worry over Leo was simply his alpha’s concern for him amplified back. Leo seemed more protective than usual lately. “Nothing. I just wondered. It would be nice to have another pup, don’t you think?”

Leo nipped at Sam’s ear. “We can always try a little harder next time you’re in heat.”

Sam kissed the alpha before turning his attention back to the garden. If he wasn’t carrying, why did he feel this way? Ever since the last full moon, all he wanted to do was sleep, much like how he’d felt when he’d carried Jimmy. Only more so. Werewolves didn’t normally get sick, so what was wrong with him?”

“You sure you’re okay?” Leo asked, and Sam inwardly cursed himself for letting his unease come to the surface around his alpha. Leo didn’t need to worry over him any more than the alpha already did.

  “Yeah, fine.”

But Leo was on alert. “You haven’t been sleeping well.”

Sam kept his attention on pulling up weeds by the root and dropping them in the green bucket at his side. “I’ve slept okay.”

  “Don’t lie to me.”

The demand and the tone in which it was given caused the omega to tilt his head in submission to his alpha.

“Tell me exactly how you’ve been feeling,” Leo ordered.

Heart hammering, Sam bit his lip before replying. “Tired, Alpha. Really tired. I-I’ve never felt quite this way before.”

Leo arranged himself, so he was no longer on his knees but sitting on his ass, arm wrapped around Sam. The warmth and closeness of his alpha soothed the omega.

“How long has this been going on?” Leo asked more gently.

“About three weeks. Since the full moon.”

Leo was quiet a moment. Sounds of small animals rustling in the nearby bushes and birds twittering on the tree limbs above them seemed suddenly amplified.

“Did you hurt yourself on the run?” Leo asked.

  Sam shook his head.

The alpha put a hand on the omega’s neck, softly stroking the place of their mating bite. “Has it gotten any better at all?”

“No, Alpha. If anything, I feel worse.” Tears sprung to Sam’s eyes at the surge of relief pouring over him at having released his worry to his alpha mate.

Leo gathered Sam onto his lap, the omega’s head nestled under his chin. His voice rumbled beneath Sam’s ear. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Sam curled his arm behind Leo and gripped the alpha’s strong shoulder. “I didn’t want to bother you. I thought it would go away. I couldn’t imagine it could be anything important.”

Leo brought his mouth close to Sam’s ear. “Nothing is more important to me than your health and happiness. You know that, Sam.”

A sob escaped Sam’s lips, and he nodded, wishing he could crawl inside Leo and hide. His alpha was so strong and always knew what to do to make things better.

When Sam’s tears had dried, and the two werewolves had sat in silence a few moments, Leo suggested they return to the house. “We’ve been out here long enough.” He got to his feet and picked up the buckets, and Sam walked alongside him toward the big plantation house in the distance. The sun had dipped to the tips of the tree-line to the west, but the day was still hot. Fat bumblebees drank from the red, gold, and purple wildflowers which seemed to have popped up overnight.

Feeling abnormally alone and vulnerable, Sam wished he could take Leo’s hand, but the alpha held the buckets. The house seemed too far away. Sam rubbed at the back of his neck and trudged along. When he stumbled, Leo set down the buckets.

The world swung as Leo swept Sam into his arms, and the omega didn’t have the energy to protest. He laid his aching head against his alpha’s chest and closed his eyes, enjoying the rocking motion of being carried.

  “What’s the matter with Sam?”

Sam blinked his eyes open when he heard Josiah’s concerned voice.

“Call your human doctor friend,” Leo said, passing the first omega on the porch steps.

Sam wiggled in Leo’s arms. “I’m okay.”

Leo’s grip on his mate tightened. “You are not. Be still. I’m carrying you to bed.”

Sam wanted to protest that he couldn’t go to bed this early, and it was too late for a nap, but sleep tugged at him. He heard Leo explaining to Josiah how Sam had been tired for weeks and that it was only getting worse.

  “Is he carrying?” Josiah asked.

“No,” Leo said. “I can’t think of any reason for him to be feeling this way.”

The worry in Leo’s voice was the last thing Sam wanted, but even as he reprimanded himself for having brought up the subject of his health in the first place, he realized it would have come to this anyway. He couldn’t even lift his head off Leo’s chest, he was suddenly so tired.

Leo gently lay Sam on the bed, and the omega snuggled into the soft mattress, the mingled scents of their earlier love-making still clinging to the sheets. The bed dipped, and Josiah stroked Sam’s hair.

“I put a call in to Angela,” the first omega said softly. “Why didn’t you tell me you’ve been feeling poorly?” />
Sam peered up at his friend. “I really didn’t want to bother anyone.”

Josiah’s brows dipped. “I know you miss Foster, but I hope you know you can talk to me about anything.”

Sam did miss Foster, now more than ever. The coyote shifter had come to River Wolf pack around the same time Sam had, and they’d formed a bond that Sam imagined would last forever. Foster had been the omega’s best friend—a replacement for the brother Sam had lost—and when Foster had left with his true mate for Crow’s pack of coyote shifters in Arizona, Sam had been bereft.

But he did know he could count on Josiah and the others. “I thought I’d start feeling better,” he said. “I would have told someone eventually. Do you really think Dr. Newman can do anything for me?”

“They’ve made great strides in their research of lycanthropes,” Josiah said. “Maybe I should get hold of Sid, too. He’ll want to know.”

In a move that had surprised everyone, the beta Sid had left the pack to live among humans and was attending nursing school. In his spare time, he collected information on werewolves and their history. Sam was sure whatever was going on with him would interest the beta.

“Okay,” Sam said faintly before giving into the tug of sleep.

  Chapter 7: Mark

Mark pushed away from his desk and swiveled to look out the small window at the street below. Angela stood behind him, waiting for his response.

“I’m not sure what you’re getting at,” Mark finally said, rubbing his eyes with his fingers. He hadn’t been sleeping well. Lately, life had turned gray and uninteresting. He moved from work to home like a robot, never really connecting with anyone, and it was depressing.

“I think humans are doing something to make the werewolves sick.”

Angela had been called to River’s plantation to examine Sam and had come straight to the Congress afterward to talk to Mark. Her worry was palpable and left Mark with an uneasy feeling in his gut that added to his dour frame of mind.
